About Us & Services Offered

Peaceful Healing's mission is to provide validation, comfort, and healing to one's life experience, as well as offer evidence-based solutions that one can integrate into their daily life in order to breathe easier.

Peaceful Healing is owned by Jennifer Chicoine, M.A., LCPC, CCTP.  She has been in practice since 2020. Her life's work is dedicated to helping others feel their best using evidence-based practices that provide a solutions-oriented approach to treatment. Her experience includes piloting an Intensive Outpatient Program at a local Behavioral Hospital and being a proud former employee of the top-voted mental health provider in the south suburbs from 2020-2023.

Peaceful Healing offers counseling services for children (ages 4-12), teens (ages 13-17), adults, couples, siblings, and families.

Pediatric Therapy

Jen's approach to pediatric counseling is a Solution-Focused Therapy-Based Play, providing families with evidence-based solutions from a holistic perspective. The primary goal is to ensure that all the child's environments are setting them up for success, and if not, Jen will work with the child's family members, the child's school, and other treatment providers to ensure the child's behavior is being properly modified. Parents will be involved in their child's treatment plan to learn how to maintain an effective parenting approach that will encourage positive behaviors in their children.

If you are struggling with your child under the age of 4 years old, give us a call.

Therapy for Teens

Jen is trained in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Exposure & Response Prevention (ERP), and Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT). Jen takes great pride in her work with the adolescent community and has demonstrated a 95% success rate with adolescent-related issues, including: self-harm, suicidal ideation, depression, anxiety, behavior issues, school refusal, relationship issues, social anxiety, OCD, sibling relational problems, and parent-child relational problems.

Therapy for Adults

Jen primarily utilizes a Client-Centered, Solution-Focused approach to therapy, involving the client in the development of their treatment plan. Along with Client-Centered Therapy, Jen will incorporate Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Exposure & Response Prevention (ERP), Soltions-Focused Therapy, and Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT) as she sees fit to provide exceptional care. Jen will always utilize a holistic approach, focusing on the mind and body connection.

Couples Therapy

Jen identifies the relationship as the client when couples are in treatment. She will craft a treatment plan with the couple that will work best for their life, and Jen will assign weekly homework for the couple to build a strong united front.

Treatment for Couples' Counseling is a 10-week program that focuses on building healthy communication, developing appropriate boundaries, building relationship rituals and virtues, learning about forgiveness from an affair (if applicable), identifying communication issues, learning conflict resolution, identifying and managing problems with intimacy, identifying the couple's strengths, and creating short- and long-term goals for a happy, lasting relationship.

Family Therapy

Jen utilizes a Solutions-Oriented approach for families. During treatment, the client is the family dynamic which will be nurtured throughout the entire process. This treatment program will help families build better communication and behaviors between siblings as well as each parent-child relationship within the family dynamic.

Parent Support

Although becoming a parent is an incredible gift, parenting can also be mentally draining and stressful. Jen offers Parent Support for parents who are struggling with: caregiver burnout, aggressive behaviors within their children, emotional distress, high stress levels, anxiety, and depression.

Meet Jen

Jen has been a counselor since 2017 and has been in private practice since 2020. In her spare time, Jen loves to spend time with her family and friends, cook and bake new recipes, tend to her garden, read books, and experience new restaurants and small towns with her husband. Jen's philosophy on life is, "the to-do lists will always be there for us to work on, but it is up to us to give ourselves permission to slow down and experience life the way we want it to be. The sooner you learn to live your life rather than roll through it, the happier you will be."
